Mobility is an essential part of daily life that many of us take for granted. It allows us to move freely and perform a wide range of activities, from going to work and running errands to participating in hobbies and spending time with loved ones. However, for those who have sustained injuries in car accidents, mobility can be greatly impaired, making it difficult to perform even the most basic tasks.
At Miranda Mo & Associates, we understand the challenges that individuals with impaired balance and mobility face and are dedicated to helping them regain their independence and improve their quality of life. As occupational therapists who are also ADP authorizers, we have the knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive mobility assessments and assist our clients in applying for funding from the Ministry of Health to cover up to 75% of the cost of the mobility devices.
Our team is multi-lingual, with the ability to provide assessments in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and Vietnamese, ensuring that we are able to effectively communicate with and serve clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
During a mobility assessment, we will evaluate an individual’s ability to move and perform activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and cooking. We will also assess their balance, strength, range of motion, and coordination. Based on the results of the assessment, we will work with the client to develop a customized plan to improve their mobility and independence.
This may involve recommending and fitting the appropriate mobility devices, such as canes, walkers, or wheelchairs. We will also provide training on how to use these devices safely and effectively, ensuring that our clients are able to confidently and independently navigate their environment as much as possible.
In addition to mobility assessments and device recommendations, we also offer a variety of other services to support our clients in achieving their mobility goals. This may include therapy to improve strength, balance, and coordination, as well as education on fall prevention and home safety.
Our team is committed to providing the highest level of care and support to our clients, ensuring that they have the tools and resources they need to live a fulfilling and independent life. If you or a loved one has sustained injuries in a car accident and is experiencing impaired balance and mobility, we encourage you to contact us to learn more about how we can help.
